Creating Your First Worksheet
These steps will help guide you through your first practice
page creation. For more detailed instructions consult the digital help file
which can be accessed from any screen on the application.
- Select a Skill Building Tab
The Computations Tab has the most
features, so let’s begin there.
- Select New Document, choose your layout.
- Select the number of problems, choose which operation your
students need to practice, then choose the format for your problems.
- There are two ways to select numbers for your practice
page:
- Place Value – choose the length of digits for each
numeral
- Range – select a maximum and minimum value for each
numeral
- If you are creating an addition, subtraction, or multiplication
page you may select to control whether or not your problems will regroup.
If you are making a division page you may select the format in which your
answers will appear.
- You’re almost finished! Preview your practice page, if it
doesn’t exactly meet your needs try clicking Regenerate to get a
new set of problems, or go back a step and make adjustments to your
parameters. You may also modify the student directions by simply clicking
the page’s title.
- You may choose to add artwork to your page by using the
drop down menu in the top right corner.
- Now print your page, turn the answers on to create a key
for yourself and click print again.
- You are finished with your first customized worksheet! You
may save documents created in the Computations Tab.
- Before you quit the application you may want to try out
some of the other Tabs.
- Comparing/Ordering functions similarly to Computations
with the exception of number selecting, only Place Value is available.
- Timed Tests is meant to test knowledge of fact families,
therefore you will be selecting a multiplier, dividend, addend, or
subtrahend for all the problems. You may also select Mixed Review which
will include all numerals less than the one selected.
- Instructional Aides provides you with printable materials
to assist with your instruction.
These are just the basics. As you use the program you will
quickly learn to maneuver through and select just the right features to meet
your classroom needs.
